As a gallerist in the US with a career spanning over 40 years, It's rare that I encounter a self taught artist who exudes such a creative force and magnificence. I've had the privilege of witnessing Garash delight collectors from across the globe, and emerge as a true tour de force in the fine art world.
He delights us with a vibrant, unabridged palette and brings us up close, past any barriers, to the pulsating spirit of his subjects. Whether Garash is presenting faces, fauna, flora or abstractions, he presents them with a glorious and fearless joie de vivre that immediately demands our attention. A single work can startle us, bring us to tears, elicit cheeky laughter or give us the overwhelming urge to break free of our restraints and seize the miracle of our existence! There is absolutely nothing static about Garash's canvases- literally or metaphorically.
Gratefully, I've had the pleasure of having a close friendship with Garash for many years now, and I must say that not always are artists "that which they paint." Personalities often differ from what is laid upon the canvas and oftentimes, alter egos emerge. However with Garash, just as in his paintings, what you see is truly what you get! He's energetic, outspoken, courageous, generous, deep, persistent and at times- hilariously flamboyant! Most important of all though is Garash's unfaltering honesty, both personally and in his work. Simply put, he stays true to his spirit and vision. Afterall, since the beginning of time, "great" art is that which speaks truth.

If you want quiet, unassuming, pale art on your walls, then Garash is not for you.
Like the artist himself, there’s nothing shy and retiring about Garash’s work. Every single painting packs a walloping great punch. Every work screams: “Look at me!”. It’s clear that the artist is totally comfortable in using colour, repetition and perspective to grab our attention – and then it’s difficult to look away.
Yet this is art that also speaks simply yet frankly, and the works can be both joyful and saddening in equal measure.
Garash is self-taught, yet his work demonstrates such a wonderful confidence and individuality. The work is almost primitive in style, exemplifying key elements of the naïve art and pop art schools, but with a creative twist all of his own.
The bold colour palate and heavy black outlines make the images like modern stained glass windows. Many reflect a poignant loneliness. Eyes plead for sympathy or understanding.
Garash’s art is already popular with international collectors, because they know, as do I, that this artist is there to be viewed, studied, enjoyed and remembered for many years to come.
